Coming up this Third Thursday in September, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Erica Goss will be reading from her newest publication, Night Court, published by Glass Lyre Press. It’s definitely, out of the box…

Some of us had gathered to wish her good luck, before she left for Oregon. We were fortunate to have the box cut open and see the glossy books pulled out of the cardboard box, like fresh juicy carrots right out of the earth. Erica read some of her poems out loud, as we sat around in rapt attention, sad that we would have to say goodbye soon. But she promised she’d be back, and she is!

You can see her at our Third Thursday reading at Willow Glen Library, this Thursday, September 21, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. with her books, and hear her read some wonderful poems from Night Court, published by Glass Lyre Press. Erica’s Night Court was the winner of the 2016 Lyrebird Prize. As usual, there’ll be signing of books during the intermission, and open mic reading after. We’re hoping you will attend.

“And I thought, all these things don’t seem that much like life, when you’re doing them, they’re just what you do, how you fill up your days…”  – Alice Munro

If you haven’t had a chance to hear Mark Heinlein’s wholesome monologues, please take a few minutes to sit back, put your earphones on, or not, and listen. What you hear will probably sound like your own story—one you never told anyone, or even spoke aloud to yourself. Well, that’s the difference—Mark has the gift of telling a story—everything we call ordinary—really well. There is value to that. Listen. Enjoy. Then take pride in whatever you do.  Mark can show you how.
